Open Water Diver

Requirements:

• Minimum age: 10 years (Junior OWD) / 15 years (OWD)
• Basic swimming skills and good health
• No prior certification required

Description:

You start in confined water, where you learn buoyancy, mask skills, regulator recovery and basic emergency procedures in a safe, shallow environment. In theory sessions you cover dive physics, safety rules, equipment, the marine environment and basic navigation.
After that you complete four open water dives at different sites around Marsa Alam, where you apply what you’ve learned, build confidence and practice low-impact, environmentally friendly diving. By the end of the course, you know how to plan and conduct simple dives with a buddy within your training limits.

After completing the course, you will receive your SSI Open Water Diver certification – recognized worldwide. You’ll be able to dive with a buddy to 18 meters, in conditions similar to your training.
