Requirements:

  • Minimum certification: Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
  • Minimum age: 10 years, depending on local regulations
  • Comfortable with standard diving skills and basic buoyancy
  • Good general health and basic swimming ability

Description:

The course begins with a knowledge briefing where you cover night diving equipment, light and hand signals, buddy communication and how to plan dives in limited visibility. Over three open water dives on two evenings, you practise safe entries and exits in the dark, using primary and backup lights, staying close to your buddy and keeping your orientation.

You also learn how to navigate at night, manage depth and time without relying only on visual references and observe nocturnal marine life in a respectful way. By the end of the course, you’ll feel calm and in control underwater at night and ready to join night dives around the world.

Course Structure

Knowledge Briefing: Learn about night diving equipment, light signals, buddy communication, and dive planning in limited visibility.

3 Open Water Dives over 2 Evenings:

  • Dive planning and safe entry/exit at night
  • Using dive lights and backup lights effectively
  • Navigation and communication in the dark
  • Observing nocturnal marine life respectfully
