Dive Courses
Dive Guide & Divemaster Programm
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Certification level: SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent and SSI Diver Stress & Rescue (or equivalent rescue certification)
- Specialties: Deep, Navigation, Search & Recovery, Night/Limited Visibility
- Experience: At least 40 logged dives to start the program (more dives required to certify as Divemaster)
- First aid: Recent first aid / CPR and oxygen provider training (not older than 12 months), e.g. SSI React Right
Description:
The program combines theory, in-water training and real-life experience at a working dive center.
In the academic sessions, you deepen your understanding of dive physics, physiology, decompression theory, environment, equipment and professional responsibilities. You learn how to plan dives for groups, brief and debrief certified divers, and assess dive sites and conditions.
In water training and workshops, you refresh and polish core skills from Stress & Rescue, work on demonstration-quality skills, buoyancy and control, and practice problem management. You train guiding scenarios, entries and exits with groups, emergency procedures and how to keep an overview when you are responsible for others.
During the practical part/internship, you shadow instructors, assist on real courses and gradually take more responsibility: giving dive briefings, leading certified divers, helping with logistics and safety on shore and on the boat. Step by step, you grow into the role of a professional Divemaster.
