The bay features a gently sloping sandy bottom with large seagrass fields, bordered by fringing coral reefs along both sides. These seagrass areas attract grazing green turtles year-round and, with some luck, the rare dugong. Thanks to minimal currents and shallow depths, Marsa Mubarak is ideal for unhurried dives, long bottom times and snorkeling close to shore.
